“The Bark Shadows” are a series of monoprints I took from one piece of 100x70cm pine wood. I applied around eight thin layers of ink to the wood, placed delicate Whenzhou paper over it, and used a flat bone folder to rub the ink gently through  from the wood to the paper. The darker areas are where I applied more pressure. I began the rubbings by selecting a knot in the wood for the first eye, and began creating a figure based on that.
